This fantastic hack is, BY FAR, the best way to experience Super Turrican on the NES. Simply put, this makes the original version obsolete.

With that being said, I would advice the author of this hack to make the following changes in the control scheme to improve the playability even further:

1) Round Shot = UP + FIRE BUTTON (beam begins instantaneously, no need to wait by holding the fire button. This always bothered me in classic Turrican. Also, make the laser begin from shooting upwards, not forward).

2) Wheel Mode = DOWN + JUMP BUTTON

3) Energy Lines = Select

4) Invincible Mode = Up + JUMP BUTTON

5) Pause = Start

Oh my gosh, this makes this game so much better !

I'm quite fond of the original Super Turrican on the NES but this version fixes a bunch of stuff, most importantly: the scrolling. The original game is already extremely hard and having so much field of view didn't help, so this hack is more than welcome !

Also, like the redesign of the Turrican suit :).

Would love to see what you could do on other Turrican & Universal Soldier games ported / botched by Accolade and stuff.

I would highly recommend anyone to download this patch, it totally changes how the game feels, it also seems compatible with other patches, if you want to give this game a shot you should use this first!

The improved sprites and control changes in this hack turn this poor port of Turrican into a great NES game. Highly recommended and the best way to play it on the NES.
