It's a recommended patch, the game has several bugs fixed by this patch, I never had a problem with it as far as I can remember. I tried the 4.3 version.

Does what it says and does not deviate into taking creative liberties with the game. One small suggestion would be to implement an optional double walk speed patch or a run button similar to PS complete collection on the Playstation 2.
