NO recycled bosses on stage 4RHZ2023-10-07Version 1.0

This hack removes Leatherhead, Rocksteady and Tatsu from The Gauntlet (Stage 4), which were recycled from previous levels of the game. The stage remains the same but there is only one boss fight against Baxter Stockman, the only original boss of this level.

It makes the game flow better and more fun to play. Highly recommended! Thanks!

Hope someone could do something similar for The Pirates of Dark Water on the SNES. A beat 'em up with great mechanics which later levels feel too long and get very repetitive. That game would be better if some repetitive parts were removed from the game and made overall a bit shorter. Thanks!

I played this game for the first time a week ago, and was enjoying it until I got to Scene 4: The Gauntlet. 4 boss fights in a row with no health restoration. 3 of the bosses recycled. It seems that the only purpose of the stage was to suck away a few continues before the final stage. That may have been needed in the Blockbuster Rental Era, but it's not needed today.

I applied the patch that removes the recycled boss battles, so that the entirety of this stage is a short hallway with a boss fight against Baxter Stockman at the end. It operates more like a final section to Stage 3, which is where I believe it belongs.
