I've always had a love-hate relationship with Megaman 5's iteration of the Rush Coil ability in that although I like that they were trying to not rehash the exact same function for the third time, the result is a version of Rush Coil that didn't particularly feel great, and it didn't really change the core game mechanics in any meaningful way. Puresabe's hack corrects a bug in which Rush Coil triggers if Megaman were to jump straight up while directly overlapping Rush, but the thing is that in all the years that I've played this game, I seldom encountered this bug because my intuition was to always jump towards Rush, and I rarely ever found myself in situations where I really had to make the jump while overlapping the two. With that in mind, this hack makes very little difference in a normal playthrough, and will probably only affect players who need the pixel-perfect precision for, let's say, speed runs. Yet despite that, I found comfort in knowing that Rush Coil will work correctly when I need it to, and it works its magic without breaking anything, so I'm more than happy to recommend it over the original stock game. | |||
