Hack description

This is a hack for Megaman X that changes the playable character X to Zero. Although the hack still uses the original game's script.

This hack also show an increased difficulty in Bosses. For example: Spark Mandrill doesn't freeze, Launch Octopus doesn't lose his arms. Armored Armadillo is faster and doesn't lose his armor...

Bonus: In the Sigma battle there are 2 Velguarders instead of one.

Gread hack, need improvementmaru-unac2020-09-07Version 1.0

It's awesome that you can manage to port X3 zero to X1, but it has some bug like how buster part is now unreachable because he just fly through breakable block or how he use black zero sprite as damage sprite while he remain red after you collect body part or the whole armor part using password. Also if anyone wonder, this hack is perfectly compatible with air-dash hack if you don't mind with bugged dash sprite

A HARD sprite hackrafsilva19832020-02-25Version 1.0

Really commendable, but it's weird that the text doesn't keep up with the changes in the sprites. When Zero enters the capsules, the glow appears where the X sprite would be. And it remains to inform that this is a Hack with greater difficulty than the original game. The bosses have some modified patterns, which can generate surprises.

Little more than a sprite hack.Old_gamer2020-02-21Version 1.0

Description says it all. But there is more cosmetic changes here than just Zero as the main character. Open the pods, it's a noticeable difference that looks pretty cool and well done.

This with further polish can be a fantastic hack, but for now it's a novelty hack. Update the dialog and Zero's red color is a little bland. But it works fine and yes, the slick hair moves just fine.

Hopefully the author gives this a little more love and we got something special here. Decent for a sprite hack though.

I like it, but the hair seems a little tad bit stiff in animation and not enough color... Feels more like 8-bit on a 16-bit sprite.

Finally Zero is Playable!pianohombre2020-02-20Version 1.0

I worked on a hack that changed the palette of X so he looked like Zero, but it wasn't a full sprite switch because the sprite for Zero is 32x32 pixels and X is 16x16 so you'd have to edit the assembly which is pretty complicated. Since another user on this site was able to swap X and Zero for X2 and X3 it's nice that this is finally done! I'll be so happy to check this out and they said they changed the text also to accommodate Zero.
