Hack description

Evil Dead is a film franchise that began in 1981, followed by two sequels in 1987 and 1992 respectively. In 2013 a remake of the first part was made, and between 2015-2018 a direct sequel of the original saga was broadcast in series format, recovering Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, the main character.

His legacy extends to comics, figures and, of course, video games, but it's weird that at the top of his popularity no one (not even LJN) has ever licensed to make a Nintendo NES video game.

This hack fixes that, using the little known Splatter House installment for this console as a base. The original game is terribly cute (no kidding, even the cockroaches are cute in this game), so:

● Title screen edited using YY-CHR and some hex.

● 90% of the content has been redrawn from scratch. The other 10% (the one that fit well in the game but was too cute) has been modified to fit the new graphic style.

● Using the excellent translation of Spinner 8 & friends as a base, all texts have been modified to suit the new storyline.

● Some Easter eggs and cameos added just for fun.

● And much more! Just check it out and enjoy it!

P.S. You can apply the patch directly on the original Japanese rom.

Probably one of the most well done hacks I've ever played. This totally conversion not only works great to adapt to story, it really feels likes it very own official Evil Dead NES title. I'm impressed, recommended.

I already talked a bit with the author before the hack was released. I have been looking forward to it for awhile. I may be a bit biased here on this. But I think it is just phenomenal. The play through really shows the amount of effort that went into it. Fans of Splatterhouse and Evil Dead alike will enjoy playing this at least once. Fans of both will play it over and over again... GREAT JOB!

This hack was really cool to play...Googie2020-04-24Version 1.0

I had to play through this hack, and I really enjoyed what I saw.

The movie cameos are really cool, it made me laugh. You owe it to yourself to play through this hack, you'll enjoy it as much as I did. Crying Onion did a great job with the graphics and it shows in this hack.

Can't wait to see more hack from him.

Okay, I actually am enjoying the elements of this hack so far. Michael Jackson Thriller stuff had me cracking up! I played up to I think Ash's sister on the bed turning into a deadite? Then she kicked my ass cause I was laughing too much. haha Good stuff! I'll let ya know if I find any bugs/glitches, etc.
