Wayyyy Better!Rugged2023-10-15Version 1.0

The work that you put into this hack, make the game sooooo much more enjoyable. No more stupid beeping and the fix for the battleship peeking make it a very pleasant game now. Thanks for the now polished game!

It makes the game actually enjoyableSirJonSoda2022-07-21Version 1.0

1942 for the NES has terrible frame rate, and the way Micronics tried to reproduce the Arcade music is laughable. This hack eliminates half of the problem by replacing Micronics' hellish beeps and tone deaf attempts with music from the Capcom's port of 1943 and gives some soul to this mess of a game. I highly recommend it.

Huge improvementLeviathan Mist2021-10-02Version 1.0

1942 and 1943 are games of a similar premise, but 1943 was an objectively better and more polished game, and the music was a huge reason why. 1942, well, it didn't have music. Just an annoying SOS-style beeping sound that played through the whole game.

This patch ports the music from 1943 accurately. As in, it sounds exactly as it does in 1943. I also like how the music continues to play on the pause menu, so you can stop and take a break while still enjoying those quality Capcom jams.

If you ask me, this is the only way to play 1942.

My ears thank you.Chronosplit2020-07-28Version 1.0

The NES and GBC versions of 1942 get a lot of flack because of the terrible attempt at replicating the music of the original arcade game. Micronics seemed to have barely tried.

This hack fixes all of that however, and it makes this game so much more bearable to play.

Makes for much Better ExperienceVanya2020-07-28Version 1.0

First off, thank you for making this Evgeny!

I made a suggestion on the forums for something like this a while back, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see it get done.

I really hate the noise they were trying to pass off as music in this game, so this hack at least makes that aspect of the game bearable.

It is a bit jarring to hear the exact same music as 1943 in 1942, but beggars can't be choosers, right?

Regardless this is a big step for making a better 1942. Now it just needs some custom tunes, graphics overhaul, and a shield system. :P

No more stupid beeping!Illusioned2020-07-28Version 1.0

This game is actually playable from start to finish without inducing deafness now.
