| A sequel? Or work on the shortcomings | diablo666 | 2021-09-24 | Version 1.0 |
Here, to tell the truth - the hack does not correspond to the name, because I see the colors - DO NOT BELONG to the rainbow. But this is a stupid quibble. The main quibble I had at the time was that the first part was terribly hardcore and in one of the worlds - dishonest. This Sequel is completely honest. It's nice to pass it and enjoy the gameplay. The difficulty does not jump, the levels are designed well and honestly. And, therefore, I recommend it not only to those who want a fresh solution, but also to beginners who have just stepped behind Mario 3. (Because, it seems to me, many people will like it and many will pass it without problems)
| A really well thought out hack | brownjacket | 2021-03-01 | Version 1.0 |
This hack has become one of my favorite SMB3 hacks, namely for its thought-out level design and colorful graphics. The difficulty is just right, exciting for average Mario players like me.
| Rainbow Realms Reigns! | beinor | 2020-08-31 | Version 1.0 |
I love BlueCrush's work. There has been such careful attention to quality level design and forming a nice aesthetic. Everything is paced so well, and difficulty grades in such a natural-feeling way. You can't say anything bad about this hack. Even when a level branches slightly off the traditional path, it does so with carefulness and tact. Furthermore, this hack is accessible to a wide audience. This sets it apart necessarily from many of its peers whose philosophy is "faster, harder, tighter". BlueCrush definitely has mastered the philosophy which is executed in Rainbow Realms 2, and it will doubtless make many people feel really good about Mario 3. I can only hope that BlueCrush continues to make romhacks of this game, as it ensures that people will keep on being drawn into romhacking and hack-playing indefinitely. - BlueFinch
| Very Colorful and New Way to Play SM3 | pianohombre | 2020-08-25 | Version 1.0 |
I just played through world 2 in RR2 today. I forced myself to play a little more today, since I was originally going to review after just beating world 1. I've also played about half-way through RR1. The difficulty is about on par with the original Super Mario 3. I lost a few lives, but it wasn't controller smashing difficult. It's nice to play a whole new game and it feels like a true Mario game with the amount of enemies, and level difficulty, etc. It's also very colorful expect lots of purple, pink, and blue. I'd definitely recommend this game.
