Hack description

This hack changes every single level (excluding the occasional boss fight) in Arkanoid - Doh It Again to a level featuring a character from the classic Mega Man series. Almost every single classic Mega Man game is represented in some way (excluding 11 and some very obscure titles), with main characters, prominent villains, famous enemies and bosses, and loads of robot masters for you to destroy block by block! Play through every level to get a few surprises at the end in the form of cameo appearances by other popular Mega Man characters.

The included README file has all of the levels and their represented character listed at the bottom, so be sure to check that out to find the location of your favorite robot warrior! This hack was created using the extremely helpful and easy-to-use ArkanEdit program, without it, this passion project would not have been able to exist. As a bonus, you can find two box arts for this hack HERE (for SNES Classic users and those who like visual distinction).

Version 1.1:
- Svambo (one of the creators of ArkanEdit) helped fix powerup bugs in
levels 75, 84, 96, and 98. Those levels can be played with glitches removed
(including powerups now able to be found on level 75 where there were none
before).

NO GOLD BRICKS! YESSSSSSWhoops2023-05-17Version 1.1

I just finished all the levels of this hack and I really enjoyed it. It was nice trying to guess which Mega Man character was going to show up next.

Most levels are similar sized sprites from past Mega Man games so there aren't too many bricks to break. There are a few larger ones like Guts Man in 19, Yellow Devil in 20, and Green Devil in 82. But even then they aren't difficult levels.

It's especially nice that there's no gold bricks. There aren't even many silver ones either. I can only think of two levels that used a lot of silver bricks (Napalm Man in 37 and Galaxy Man in 57) but most don't use many at all.

Power ups are more common in each level as well. Laser, Meteor, and Warp power ups drop frequently making it easy to blaze through the levels. In larger levels Slow power ups will drop often making them easier to finish / the ball speed easier to manage.

Overall it's a great hack and a nice break from the difficulty in the vanilla game. Honestly, if someone was having trouble beating the vanilla levels I would recommend they play this hack first.
