Tickles the LttP Puzzle Solving ItchSubject N2812023-11-24Version 1.01

Short but sweet, I can't necessarily say there's any one thing that bother me so I guess mission accomplished, World is built well enough to keep track of.

It's clear the point of the hack was show off some unique aspects that are present in the Base game but not shown off nearly as much which definitely presented itself well.

Story wise, it felt like it was there at the beginning and the rest was pretty 'Standard Zelda' Till the end. But given the short time frame it was made, was still overall enjoyable.

If you're a fan of unfamiliar mechanics used in a normally familiar game, definitely check this one out~ twas a fun venture~

A Great Short Story To EnjoySwiftlyTony3602023-03-23Version 1.01

Introduction

Now that I've completed Secrets of the Past beginning to end, I can now add my input. This small hack was a fun concept, and I'm glad to have played it all the way through. Along the way, I have noticed a number of issues that need to be worked on, as well as areas that could be improved upon. I will address them below:

Game-play Review

Each dungeon received a significant increased in difficulty as you progress, which lines up according to the Zelda format. There is only one world map, which is significantly smaller than the original one. You are limited to where you can explore because there are restrictions in place upon the areas. Unlike in the original game, where you are free to explore, you are actually required to complete the dungeon or at least get the equipment so that you can unlock more areas. The layout of the dungeons was very creative and challenging, it was very enjoyable.

With no guide, you will not be able to know for certain if you have gotten every item in the game. The main items are placed in dungeons, while the other items are hidden throughout the game. Once I had completed the game, I was unable to be sure if I had missed something. This hack was intended to be small, but I was craving more as I was making progress with the story because of how well executed the game was.

Writing Review

I am impressed by the narrative being told here. It was interesting and creative to see a change in narrative. Additionally, it appears to me that there might be a sequel to this story once you get the Triforce, as it mentions other antagonists. It is possible that this is the only story, or that the mentioned antagonists may be the next main villain. Only time will tell.

Suggestions

– Adding a Read-Me Log of where items are and a Change Log of what was changed in the original game to make things clearer.

– Adding the Pegasus Boots ASM hack to improve fluidity in the game.

– Adding the L and R Equipment Select Buttons for additional functionality.

– Adding a recolor link to distinguish him from the original game.

Conclusion

After reviewing this story, I actually found it enjoyable to a degree. I believe this hack as a lot of room for improvement. This hack is suitable for anyone who is interested in a challenge and should try out this game. I will give this hack a recommendation because I can see myself replaying this game. Hopefully, there will be further revisions in the future.

Not your typical LTTP hack - In a good wayBlazing2021-12-28Version 1.01

Definitely a hack I would recommend to my fellow LTTP lovers. Its not a cakewalk, but it does not have the bullshit that other LTTP hacks have. I'm usually very hateful of "crystal switch" puzzles, but this time it was more creative so I appreciate it. Also the easy looping rooms instead of tedious backtracking are the kind of things that exist in original LTTP that almost no other hack implements in their design.

I'm not sure if there are any other secrets to get out of this game. A few things looked curious so I plan on doing more exploring. But a solid hack around the board.

Some Spoilers Ahead:

One: What is this story? never mind, I know its just a joke story like most roms do now and days but I'm not hear to review on that but the game-play that came with it

I like the start of the game and knew it was short start from the get go when you already have Sword, Bow, Lantern, and Hookshot just before leaving the beginning of Hyrule/Castle Dungeon, The dungeons were not tedious at all, the great thing I like about certain roms is giving you shortcuts so you don't have to backtrack if you die say later in the dungeon or even in the boss fight (which are rough when it comes to this rom if you're not prepared). Some of these dungeons have linearity to it, but not where it gets fully exposed, this game makes quite use of the Hookshot, which I like because it is my favorite item and liking I get it very early into this game

The Caves in this have some really nice puzzles to make you second guess if this is the right way or the wrong way, but also involve back-tracking to them, most of them after you beat a dungeon and get the items for them. The overworld is short and small, but it is unique for it considering its just a small rom

Another short and sweet rom I can see myself coming back to play, Some average ALTTP players might find difficulty in this if they're not used to playing roms, but I'd say give it a chance when you have time

PS: Beware of the LSD room

8.5/10

A Fun Little TripRabbi Raccoon2021-08-14Version 1.0

I really enjoyed this hack. I wish it was longer, in fact. It's a lot of fun and uses a lot of creativity to make some unique puzzles that aren't overly frustratingly difficult. I found my self going "ohhhhhhhhhhhh!" instead of "finally!" when I got around something, and I'm sure there are a couple things I missed (namely, 2 of the 3 medallions). There were really only a couple issues I had with it

1) Lack of hints about well...anything. But with the overworld being so small and the dungeon's being pretty straighforward that wasn't exactly a big problem because it's only a matter of time before you stumble onto something, but I felt it worth mentioning nonetheless because something required towards the end in particular I felt was a liiiiiiittle unintuitive.

2) I'm not a fan of required puzzles that may require trial and error and multiple consumables, but Superskuj always made sure there were enough nearby. That's entirely a preference but again, I felt it worth mentioning.

3) There's an empty room in the third temple behind a locked door that seems to serve no purpose

Definitely worth a shot, and I look forward to anything the creator puts out in the future

Although this isn't a very long hack, it's still pretty fun. New dungeons and puzzles make for an ejoyable playthrough. If you're looking for something to occupy a bit of time, this is for you.
