Hack description

New Order is a level edit hack that completely revamps item collection in Mega Man X. You can now acquire each part of the Light Armor in any order you choose, as well as each Sub Tank and Heart Tank without any prerequisite items. These changes have been made with great care in order to keep the gameplay and progression feeling organic. The only obstacles that have been left in place are stage-specific conditions, such as the ice in Flame Mammoth's stage or the water in Sting Chameleon's stage.

If you have any suggestions or encounter any bugs, make sure to leave a review and/or send an email to koriusx@gmail.com.

Good Changes make for new options to playMylocke2024-01-25Version 0.3

Mega Man X1 - New Order has some nice changes that I agree with and some that I don't. I obviously don't foresee a newbie playing this hack before the base game, and with that in mind it's not so bad, but I felt some of the changes to where the capsules were and some ladders to the hearts were unnecessary or done too much. Especially with the capsules, their locations are made painfully obvious. Some of them were nice though like the ladders for hearts.

I feel I didn't even really do this hack justice without getting all the armor, playing around with the hadoken, and using lvl 3 charge more - since it's damage output was increased. I'll definitely have to do a buster only run with this hack in the future.

Overall I like the non-map changes more and would like to see some patches for those specifically to make a nice Hybrid hack.

Half nice, half worseRaykusen2022-02-27Version 0.3

I love the nice touch of removing the obstacles to obtain the armors.

What i cannot stand is the HP increase for the mavericks. That is really annoying trying to move fast when i cannot kill mavericks (normal enemies, not bosses) same as vanilla because their HP have been increase.

Won't recommend this unless that is returned back to normal.

A much needed improvement.Sprite:D2021-10-12Version 0.2

The original game was obviously not made for armorless runs, leading to a game that's much less replayable and has much less variety than its sequels. This hack entirely fixes those issues and the game is now truly perfect for armorless runs now and works well. The only issue I have is the Sigma Fortress 1 tower section right after the boss battle against Vile - it's still a pain to do armorless without using charged weapons, and definitely would be nice to see it improved. Aside from that, the hack does its job well. Great hack!
