This entry always appealed more than the others because it takes place in more unique places to race, but also offers more with its interchangeable weapons system, it's also less cartoony than the previous two 16-bit games, setting it even more apart. This patch improves the internal frame rate and there's now the possibility to use a remixed soundtrack, making it something that is even better than the Sega CD Road Rash version, that and enhanced controls to change weapons makes this a must for fans of the series.
| Awesome work! | lucienne | 2022-12-15 | Version 1.03 |
My favorite Road Rash, and the definitive version of that game now! Thank you! To the hack author, if you update your readme file with contact information, I have additional feedback and bugs to report that I am "forbidden" from posting to this review by site staff here.
| Switching weapons feels much easier | RitzLazyArtist | 2022-11-18 | Version 1.03 |
This hack makes switching weapons much easier with a Z button on a 6-button controller. It's still possible by holding up and pressing START even on 6-button. We need to get the Y button to kick without having to hold down+C.
| The black sheep gets some love, finally! | Red Soul | 2022-08-23 | Version 1.01 |
Road Rash 3 is in that weird place in the franchise where a lot of "threes" are: the first game is a success, the second expands and improves on it and gets immediately loved by everyone, and the third entry has huge expectations that it cannot quite match (Streets of Rage, anyone?) Personally, even though I'd prefer they kept the sprite graphics from the second game rather than moving to pre-rendered to look "modern" (a poor decision... pre rendered is just ugly), the gameplay and fun factor in number 3 are just as on point as it's non red-headed stepchild older brother, Road Rash 2. The patch does a lot to improve and fix the game in many ways, and it becomes an even more worthwhile experience for it. Now, if only someone redit the bike and biker graphics to match the second game more closely...
| Amazing how the little things makes a HUGE difference.. | 2spaz | 2022-08-23 | Version 1.01 |
Always been a huge fan of the 16-bit series.. The hack does everything as stated.. The framerate alone makes this a must-have, everything else is just icing on an already delicious piece of cake.. One can only hope 1 & 2 gets the same amount of attention.. Highly recommended..
