Nice to add to the collection!Nintenja2022-09-17Version 1.00

I never knew I needed this..i probably don't need this..you probably don't either,however....hey it's kinda cool sorta demanding it into classic Gameboy style..a different visual take never hurts anyone.. thanks for the work..this is a neat hack..it's kinda funny..almost seems possible this could have actually come out on gameboy..with Gameboy games basically becoming nes games with color hacks(Super Mario Land 1 and 2 and wario world color hacks...I think it's fun for more of these nes games to become Gameboy games..so yeah to the mod author here..feel free to do more of these..I'm all for it.

This is extremely rushed and not recommended.

I've tested all 3 versions, and all 3 contain incorrect/clashing colors at various times. One of the most common and noticeable instances is the red/yellow coin icon every time a level starts up - this occurs on ALL color versions. You can also accurately see in the screenshots how enemies and Mario himself are noticeably the wrong colors on yellow and green versions. While this doesn't stick out as terribly colorwise, it's constant while playing.

Regardless of the above problems, I was hoping for just a color palette change exclusively (anything to appear more 'Mario Land-like'), but this is all that has changed. For black and white if you're able, I'd recommend simply turning the color all the down on your monitor/television - it'll will work far better than this hack.

I never imagined this Super Mario Bros. in the Game Boy style.Vallenatero20152022-09-15Version 1.00

Indeed, although perhaps it is not as special as one thinks, there are really positive aspects (in fact, more positive than negative) than to consider: colors and graphics are really great to look like a real version of Super Mario Bros. for Gameboy, so it would be worth trying after all. It is certainly a recommended hack.

What's so special about it?NesDraug2022-09-14Version 1.00

All it does is changes the font and the colors to look like gameboy. How is that an "improvement"? How is it an Anniversary Special? Crushie is capable of making competent rom hacks so I really don't understand the meaning of this. If it added Gameboy music or Mario Land levels or even graphics that would be one thing. But this is just a waste of time.

+ Font looks cool, I guess

  • Colors are dull (even though that's the point)
  • Starpower Mario does't flash.
  • Coins are pink on the intermediate screen.
