Hack description

A very simple patch that converts the 'Not used' button of both control schemes into a Sprint button. Pressing or holding this button will place the player in a running state. Note that double-tapping a direction continues to also place the player in a running state.

FINALLY someone did it.tsubasaplayer162022-11-16Version 1.0

I don't know why Enix didn't think of having a dedicated sprint button considering that one of the face buttons is practically unused, and that only double tapping the d-pad for sprinting would be inconvenient for some people (including myself). For many years there's no hack that can make Illusion of Gaia have a dedicated sprint button, until now. The only downside I could see to this is that there's not very many button layouts that can change the sprint button (though this is due to the vanilla game, there's only two), for me I prefer the sprint button to B or Y. If you have been playing Terranigma, or anything that had Y/B as the run button and B/A as the attack button or something, then prepare to get the controls confused from time to time until you get used to it. Still, this is a must-have hack. You can even sprint in different directions with no interruption!
