Decent for a difficulty hackVinzelles2022-12-30Version 1.0

This hack is alright. The puzzles are of similar difficulty to vanilla for the most part, with a select few of them being slightly more difficult in my experience. There are a few other things, however, that make this hack actually difficult, and it's not the puzzles.

Enemy types can usually be told apart by their color, but here everything is shuffled color-wise so it will catch people off guard. A very minor offense, this one, so no big deal.

What makes the rooms difficult is the choice to play Max alone IMO, because if you do so this hack is pretty punishing: often there are *just* enough throwable items for Max to be able to clear a room of enemies, so if you miss a throw you often have to leave the room and go back in to reset it. It's fine to force the player to do this when they're dealing with a puzzle room, but personally I find it a little less fine when it's a room of enemies or, god forbid, a room that is a mix of the two, of which there are at least a few in this hack.

This isn't even about forced progress, such as an event where a door opens if you defeat everyone: many corridors are tight and Max can't maneuver well with a barrel in his tiny child arms, and often you have to make a path through the enemies in order to reach an already open door or a staircase.

I haven't tried to do so, but I firmly believe this game is easier if you play as Goofy, who does more damage on throws.

The boss battles, lastly, are modified to make the fight harder either by shrinking the space in which the player can move and restricting their movement, or making the floor icy, or a combination of the two. I hate ice floors in this game, but then again there probably isn't much else that can be done in a difficulty hack of this game to make the bosses harder.

My recommendation is as follows: if you don't mind the difficulty I can recommend it, but at the same time I advise you play Goofy to spare yourself unnecessary suffering; if you just finished playing the vanilla game and want something similar to that, go play the other GT hack, as Z101 delivers on the difficulty it promises and is harder than that one.
