Reviews
| Clearly a lot of effort went into this | LostSoulSilver | 2024-01-26 | Version 1.03 |
This was made with love. Unfortunately it's also pointlessly cryptic to the point of frequently not knowing what to do or where to go. Spamming high level enemies on every single map is also a sure way to increase unnecessary frustration. Maybe I'm just not good at the game, but I sure didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked to
| If you love Halloween themes and Zelda3 this is a must. | Mylocke | 2023-12-01 | Version 1.03 |
This All Hallows Eve hack is absolutely delightful to play. If you love Halloween themes and Zelda3 this is a must. Lots of love and care went into the spriting / re-skinning of (I think) every single enemy and NPC in the game. Most all with other Nintendo or fun Halloween themed characters. Everything seems alive and natural to be in the world. Some really cool effects were even kept and changed for many Enemies. Out of the 5 Bosses in the game, 4 are new to Zelda 3 (ported from other Zelda games and given new skins to fit the Halloween theme). Pumpkins, Haunted Forests, Flesh / Hell Dungeon, Haunted Houses, and a spooky wasteland of perpetual night with a Gauntlet of everything leading to the final boss. Money Economy is balanced, Health availability and upgrades are very progressive. Most all items are earned with puzzles that require a bit of thought, but aren't too hard. I needed to use the ZSNES Layer removal trick to get past a few puzzles but then kicked myself for its obviousness in retrospect. It took me 6 hours of my first playthrough but I think I could easily cut that down to 4, maybe 3.5 in a repeat play (which I will likely do next year if there is an update)
