Ranma 1/2: Chougi Ranbu Hen is a good fighting game close to SF2 but with one big flaw: Its framerate is catastrophic. The game is calibrated for 60 fps but can never reach it even if you don't touch the controller and leave the fighters idling. It varies continuously between 30 and 50 fps. With the way games used to work, this means that Ranma runs in slow motion all the time.Screenshots

I'll keep it simple, this patch completely changes the game. Stable 60fps, it makes gaming extremely more enjoyable. This is the way to play this game. Thank you Upsilandre
| This is crazy! | r1ggles | 2024-07-28 | Version 1.0 |
How well the game now runs can't be overstated, it plays so drastically better that it feels like a completely different game. GET THIS PATCH! Emulation, real HW, doesn't matter. It's not a "fastrom/overclock fixes it" type of situation with this game, this is an optimization on a level that I don't think I've seen before on the SNES. Makes me wonder what other games on the SNES could possibly get a treatment like this, Earthbound has some frame pacing/drop problems. I couldn't get it to work with the translation patch sadly, no matter the order I patched the game in, hopefully that gets a fix later. But, even if it doesn't, this is such a crazy improvement that you shouldn't play the game without this framerate improvement patch.
| Unbelievable! | luna211 | 2024-07-28 | Version 1.0 |
What a difference! Remember how awful the slowdown used to be for Ranma's last fighter on the SNES/Super Famicom? This labor of love leaves it all behind. I doubt I'll ever go back to the original. Highly recommended!
