| A nice improvement | ilya_indigo | 2022-06-01 | Version 1.0 |
Translates the title screen of the Japanese version into English. A very necessary patch, considering that the American version of the game does not exist.
| Rudimentary and Unnecessary | FCandChill | 2021-10-22 | Version 1.0 |
This translation fairly simple. On the title screen, it translates "ギミック" to "Gimmick". However, a simple hack like this managed to have issues. The original title screen, both NTSC and PAL, uses anti-aliasing on the font for the subtitle. The PAL version has an adequate English font, however, a new rudimentary one is in this hack. The font in this hack lacks anti-aliasing and clashes with the other graphics. Additionally, having "Gimmick" twice on the title screen doesn't make sense. Katakana subtitles are usually used for titles that are in Kanji to assist younger players who know little to no Kanji. The Katakana subtitle serves the same purpose in Gimmick!, but for younger players who don't have a firm grasp of English. It would've been better to remove the subtitle and move all the title screen graphics down a tile.
| A very simple change of title but it's nice as art | Rockmanfan2000opinion | 2021-03-31 | Version 1.0 |
This patch accomplish what it promises, a simple change of the title to match the language of the game (English). I got nothing to say, it's just a nice touch for the people who likes improvements in the esthetic art of the title screens.
