This is a hack of Super Mario Bros. which replaces Mario and Luigi with Peach and Daisy as the playable characters. Rather than reusing or editing any existing sprites, the new graphics were made from scratch and specifically designed to fit in with the aesthetic of the original game. Inspired by Mike Mika's Donkey Kong: Pauline Edition, this hack is directed toward the ideal of giving women more active, heroic, playable roles in games.Screenshots

One thing I like about these types of hacks are that the role reversal to me anyway, feel less like a damsel in distress and more like the damsel kicking some rear and saving the man instead. This isn't the first hack to do this and probably not the last as the Donkey Kong: Pauline Edition hack that this was inspired by is any indication as well as a hack to play as Zelda instead of Link. I'd kill for a Kid Icarus hack to play as Palutena as she's fine as heck and is capable of holding her own to boot. Despite not having fancily designed levels or anything of the like, it's still nice to see that Daisy is still being represented despite her no longer appearing in any mainline titles since her debut in Super Mario Land which is a guilty pleasure of mine I replay when I'm bored every once in a while. I'm not gonna get into why that is but I just wanted to point that out. Peach in a white dress is interesting too as it wasn't until later installments she got a pink one.

Very nice to see this! Refreshing that you see Peach and Daisy together by replacing Mario and Luigi. Nice improvement!
