The only thing that this hack changes is the palette, but that's really all that it needs. Full disclosure: I love sunsets; they cast this magical glow over the sky, and as they go on, everything else is bathed in shadow, and this hack perfectly recreates that. The skies show up in yellow, pink, purple, reddish-purple, salmon, and the occasional sky blue, and I find all of them to be beautiful and very soothing. The underwater stages put you into pink water, and it just works. The castles have yellowish lava, and it lights up the background in a very slightly pinkish red. The only gameplay this really affects is that you can't see enemies in front of the high walls in World 8-3. Bottom line: if you like the screenshots, then you'll like this hack.

This is a very calming and soothing hack. The graphic changes have a strange soothing effect to the soul while playing this game. The contrast between the warm orange sky to the pitch back backgrounds gave me a warm feeling inside. It made me think of wonderful warm summers of the past.
