Hack description

With the stars having different abilities and can float for a long period of time, this is definitely not your old Super Mario Bros. 2. 4matsy did a great job with the ASM, look where the hearts are located. And he did a great job with the graphics giving this hack a unique style, this hack needed to come to the masses. And the bosses will show you no mercy, you gotta have quick reflexes to battle them and collect lives in the bonus stages, you're gonna need lives in this hack. So if you're looking for a challenge, give this hack a try, you have nothing to lose, whee!

Anyone familiar with the hacking community will immediately recognize the graphical style as Googie's work, and it really works here. Everything is bright and beautiful, reaching the level of haunting in World 7. The creatures are cute, and have that classic Googie aesthetic. The actual stages are pathetically easy, now that every character can float for ridiculous amounts of time, but they're shuffled around a bit; Toad is now very slow, and Luigi is a total speed demon. Where the challenge really comes out is in the boss fights: Birdo's projectiles are lightning fast, Mouser's bombs have a very short fuse, and you have to jump onto Tryclyde's projectiles as they fall downward, not to mention that all of the bosses take quite a few more hits. The Tryclyde battles are pretty grueling, but all of the others have a fair challenge to them. Actually Fryguy and Wart are easier then before, and arguably, Clawgrip is, as well. I would easily recommend this hack on visuals alone, though; give it a look!
