| Rockman 3: Zone of Eden - About the hack - let's say, point by point. | diablo666 | 2021-12-03 | Version 1.0 |
1. Graphics - nice graphics, pleasing to the eye. Palettes do not irritate the eyes. 2. Some enemies have changed, some have not changed (or rather, only the bees have changed, the rest is unchanged) 3. Bosses have different AI. Some bosses have become more interesting, some more difficult, and some dishonest. And the dishonest boss is the Yellow Devil. The boss is complicated by such quality as: "More yellow dangerous blocks" of his body. There are 3-4 of them. It is difficult to jump in most cases. And more difficult: because of strange weaknesses. More often than not, their weaknesses are useless than their help.
4. The music is done well. It feels like the author tried to do it himself. This is not porting - it is self-made. 5. Аbilities. Very unusual, very unusual. But to a greater extent, their actions have been changed. Some in a good way, some are more useless than others As they said: Musically - the hack is fine, the rest is finished. But in principle, very playable, very playable. Will give pleasure to some people, and some - will get experience to pass more complex HACKS. I recommend it for review.
| For each plus, there's a minus | Sosuko | 2021-08-02 | Version 1.0 |
The best way I can describe this hack, is that it is a very different game from the original in most departments, but that it lacks polish overall. This results in every plus that I can note for it having a corresponding negative. Different types of enemies will show up in levels and familiar ones will behave differently, but they are placed in such repetitive boring ways, that it doesn't really matter. Several times you'll just be running through a corridor with some pits in it and the same 1-2 enemies repeating again and again until you reach the next screen. Many weapons are pretty different and some even have secondary uses, which is kind of cool, but they are also horribly imbalanced, frustrating to use (e.g. Needle Shot) and can straight up ruin all difficulty (e.g. Shadow Blade lets you fly infinitely and Gemini Beam restores your health). Bosses are pretty different from normal, but some have completely undodgeable attack patterns or just straight up don't work (e.g. During Hard Man's refight he won't spawn Hard Knuckles, making him a joke). I'd still recommend the hack for those interesting in playing through a unique MM3 experience, but expect that there will be some rough edges while playing through
| Amazing musics, but the rest could be better | Timaeus | 2020-03-04 | Version 1.0 |
This hack is actually interesting. The graphics are neat and very unique (Shadow Man's stage was kinda wierd, though) and the music is truly incrediable. It is pretty much the only hack that I go back to it just to listen to the musics. However, the level design is kinda boring. Most of it is very basic. It is really easy and, unlike some level hacks like Extra, it didn't got my attention at all. The bosses had interesting ideas, but man some are impossible to not get hit, which is really bad for me. I love when the bosses give me the feel of challenge and possibility to defeat without taking damage at the same time. Half of the weapons are just bad, especially Shadow Blade. Top Spin, Hard Knuckle and Spark Shock are still the same (Sophia tried to fix Spark Shock, but only half of the job was done). Search Snake is really good overall, but Shadow Blade, Magnet Missile and Needle Cannon (the most useful ones) are so bad. You cannot hit anything properly with them and Needle Cannon is too weak here. Shadow Blade has a puzzle involved around it on Needle Man Revisited, but man its frustrating. Gemini Laser is really op, since you regenerate quite alot of health everytime you collect the laser. The only changed, balanced and good weapon here is Search Snake. Overall, this hack is a mix bag. While I love and adore the musics and graphics so much, the level design is uninteresting, some bosses are bad (not all of them) and the weapons overall are either really bad, not much different and a really good one. Trying it is worth it for the musics or a very casual yet fresh experience (not counting a few bosses), and it does not hurt, so if you want to try it out, remember about the issues listened above.
