This is the ultimate boss-rush!ShadowMan442022-11-01Version 1.1

Graphics: 6/10

I like some of the details like our "Rock Man CX" here having a slightly different walking animation to the normal Mega Man, or Dr. Light's boss battle sprites. Some things in this are really weird and inconsistent though, why does Quick Man have different sprites when he's being fought as a boss and when he's playable? It's a waste of rom space honestly, also some of "playable" Quick's sprites are hastily edited off of Mega Man's animations, especially with the sliding animation. The "weapon get" screen being based on X3's screen goes hard for some reason. They didn't need to go all out on the details, but they did, and I commend them for it.

Music: 6/10

Like most Mega Man hacks, this one is full of random songs that sometimes doesn't fit the boss you're fighting against. Mario's stage theme is remixed from the underwater theme from the first Mario game which makes sense, Bomberman's theme is a remix of the classic Bomberman theme which also makes sense. But then you get Cheat Man whose stage is from Ratchet and Clank of all things, and he even has a unique boss fight of the Hippie battle from Earthbound! This hack also threw in Megalovania because heehaw funny meme song (yes, I know this came out before that song became meme-status). Why is Mega Man's stage Galaxy Man of all things? Like, shouldn't it have been a remix of the Mega Man 2 title screen theme or something? That's what most people associate Mega Man's "theme" to be.

I really do like the choice of boss music though, I've never played Keitai Denjuu Telefang or whatever it's called but man that game must have a banging soundtrack.

Gameplay: 6/10

There's a guy on YouTube called "Antdude" and he describes these kinds of hacks in the best way possible; "Hey, look at this new thing I added". This hack tries adding a ton of new gimmicks and quirky gameplay changes but doesn't really do a good job representing it. The weapons are all these wacky and crazy overpowered utilities that make you go "hey, this is super cool" like you can literally have the Dead Ringer straight out of Team Fortress 2 and it's fairly accurate to the source material. I wish there were times in this game where this weapon would have a much bigger purpose other than "hey guys look, I made a TF2 reference!". The Kamen Rider level is just absolutely insane, I don't know why every Mega Man 2 hack has to have borderline impossible Quick Man laser obstacle courses. Both Kamen Rider and the later Dr. Light stage have some of the worst laser chase areas I've ever had to endure, but at least they weren't underwater.

I will say though some of these bosses have pretty interesting mechanics, like Kamen Rider having a 2nd phase where his motorcycle gets destroyed and he starts to fight you for real, or when Mega Man throws you off and literally "pauses" to use an E-Tank on himself to refill his life. I really like it when meta stuff like this is in these hacks, but again I feel like some of it is forced and not really used that well. The boss rematches are actually pretty neat, they change the mechanics on some of them. Like you have to fight the Black Bomberman while the OG white one drops bombs onto you. After this you're thrown into a stage where it'll throw bits of each of the main stages one by one, I like this one and wish the actual Mega Man games did something like this.

Now the final boss here is... something else. You literally wouldn't have ever guessed that this was going to be based on the YOSHI'S ISLAND final boss going into this blind. It's still wacky and random but my god it's actually amazing how well they managed to make it work with Mega Man 2's engine.

Story: 4/10

I have absolutely no idea what's even going on with this story. Dr. Wily made a fake Mega Man and he has to fight Dr. Light's robots... and Bomberman, and Kamen Rider, and Mario, and Whispy Woods, and some guy who looks a bit like Cyborg from Teen Titans, and some kind of edit of Mega Man called "Air Man" that's like some manifestation of wind or something I don't know, and also someone I have absolutely no idea who it's supposed to be. They could be based on the creator's teacher or boss for all I know, they have glasses and throw papers so it makes sense. The creator probably just was like "wow look at these random characters I threw in! I bet you weren't expecting to see Mario as a boss were you?". The boss battles themselves actually do kinda resemble the character's source material though, so I guess that makes up for it. I do have to ask why "Air Man" gives you the Dead Ringer, why didn't they just have The Spy from TF2 as a boss? That would've made slightly more sense and hey, I think it would've even attracted more TF2 fans to the game.

The fortress bosses don't get much better, the first boss is just Ultraman for some reason, the next stage straight up has the clock tower from Castlevania III where you fight Quick Man. Yeah that's another thing I wanted to bring up, why does Quick Man take the role of Zero from X3 in this? I get that there's a lot of references to the X series in this, and it's impressive that you can switch between the 2 characters in the menu like in X3, but come on this game is already so confusing with this random mishmash of characters as is. At least the rest of the bosses are all just Mega Man 1 robots which is what I would expect Dr. Light to do.

Like I said the final boss is a parody of the Yoshi's Island boss, and again you wouldn't have EVER expected this if you were going in blind. It's again a really "oh wow look at this, bet you didn't expect that!" thing to do but my god it is a perfect final boss.

Overall: 6/10

It tries to do a ton of wacky and random stuff with the new weapons and random characters as the bosses and doesn't fully commit to it. Why have the TF2 round clear theme and the Dead Ringer a mechanic if you're not going to have Spy BE one of the bosses? Why have Quick Man of all characters act like Zero from the X series? And for god sakes, who is Yoshino Man supposed to be?!

Regardless, it's still a pretty funny hack that throws you off with the craziest things you can't see coming. The level design does get pretty frustrating at times and it feels impossible in some areas, but hey I mean emulators have savestates for a reason.

Ambitious, creative,wyansas2022-08-25Version 1.1

I only got through six bosses before I was beat down enough to finally give up.

The hack has a great premise and starts strong. You play as Mega Man CX, who's kinda half Mega Man half Bass. You can dash and dash-jump but you have a sort of Gatling gun as your buster. There is dialogue and some familiar robot masters in the prologue, but there's not much dialogue in the robot master stages. There is some interesting level design, some of the permanent upgrades are really well hidden, and the bosses aside from Cheat Man are fun, well designed, and fair. Other reviewers have complained about Fire Mario, but I think he's alright. Cheat Man though... I'll get to him later.

The game is decently fun, but after a while you realize the levels outside the bosses are a war of attrition. Your main weapon is a turbo-enabled sprayer-buster of sorts, and both weapon energy and health energy heal you. Those are the correct game design compensations for the atrocious enemy design and placement in this hack. You'll be taking damage constantly and unavoidably, so you just need to keep firing, healing with the plentiful health drops, and moving forward. It's a grind, and not much fun for a first time player. By the time I got to Cheat Man, I'd about had enough of the game, but that boss finally did my patience in.

This hacker is clearly talented and loves Mega Man, it's a shame I couldn't even stomach the first eight levels. I'd love to see what craziness happens in the Dr. light levels. Definitely use save states in order to make the grind more palatable.

Rосkmаn (2) CX - More Than a Hackdiablo6662022-02-16Version 1.1

Rockman CX (aka Megaman CX) is the first hack to hit me with its own appearance. I have been following his process since 2013. From simple graphic hacking - by 2017, much has changed.

0. The story that we must defeat Dr. Light (Right)

1. Graphics and structure levels. They are pleased with the good ones, albeit in places - they jump in complexity, but somewhere there is not enough graphic component. BUT! The lack of graphics at the Megaman level adorns him... Although there is a minus in this

2. A variety of enemies. There are from the original, but there are - which are made from scratch.

3. Music. Although all are mixes under NES, but they sound very good.

4. The bosses. They have changed everything, or rather many, but for those who have familiar habits of behavior. They combine well. Some bosses have several phases. For example: Mega man and his hidden E-tanks, Cheat man and 2 different rounds, Fierce Gust Tank...

5. Game characters. There are two of them, depending on your path. Most of the game - for the "Gray Rockman" - with machine guns. But the second character (Quick man) has homing boomerangs. And it diversifies the hack

6. The abilities here are different. Apple Shield, Bomb, Rider Kick, Rock Blaster, Cheat Sword, Fire Spit, Paper Blade, Invisible Clock. All are useful in their own way. Even Air man's ability, I mean this Clock, had to be brains to break. But It is useful, no more than, um... Flash Stopped, because it almost does no damage to enemies, but for you - it will pass easily damage

7. ITEMs. Platforms, Energy Capsule and UberCharge. They are all useful, because the Platform is placed under the character and can save from fall into the pit, Capsule - restores the Energy of one or several abilities (+ Character health and ITEM Platform), UberCharge - temporary invulnerability from spikes, enemies or other damage. However, the downgrade happen... And because of what - UberCharge - to use only at full scale, the Energy Capsule - makes up for one thing, and the Platforms disappear faster

8. Additional levels. This is the level of Zero (beginning of the game), and the level of Staff (end of the game).

9. Different paths. It depends on whether you save the second character or not.

10. The game records progress. It is very good. Why is that? Because not everyone can start the game from the very beginning.

11. I forgot to say that there are two different languages, which will help to understand the dialogs and what is happening in the game

12. Dialogs that deepen the plot

13. Other obstacles and features. At the Mario level, there is a fiery rotating pillar of fire, causing damage. And there is a peculiar Tricky moment with a maze, as in the original SMB of World 4-4. You can still meet machine gun spikes. "Spikes that take 1 HP each when they touch" and E-tank are traps. They pull the character's HP

14. THIS IS THE FINAL BOSS. I only saw this in Game Boy MM4. The big boss in the background. You look at him, huge... You change the Functions of the abilities that you are trying to defeat him. The boss attacks from afar with stones (hitting the ground, they fly to a certain point, breaking a support underneath, that is, part of the laboratory. It also deals damage), reception "Hadouken". And in close combat - trying to crush you with fists (Of the fist hits the void, there will be no damage)

Summing up the pros and cons of this hack. I give pluses for music, levels, Boss AI, abilities and non-linear passage possibilities. Cons come with the following points: inconvenient to slide. There you need to hold the buttons to slide. (Compare with MM3). Another minus goes to DOWNGRADE Items.

The hack so impressed me with its diversity, despite the minuses. I felt that I was playing a different, different game. Therefore, I give this status: "A NEW GAME. I advise you to play it, for you will enjoy it. Recommended!"

Amazingly creative ideas with terrible executionSupergamerguy2021-11-27Version 1.1

Honestly, I really wanted to recommend this hack. I'm a HUGE Mega Man fan and have played several rom hacks from the Classic and X series alike. Heck, I've even played this hack itself several times, although my playthrough today was the first time I made it past the "Robot Master" stages. And I gotta say, I don't like this game. In fact, I don't think it's all that well-made, specifically in level design and difficulty. Everything else about the game is fantastic, especially for a hack of Mega Man 2. The new graphics and art design are wonderful, with so many cool and well-implemented references to various pieces of media permeating every bit of this hack. That goes for the music as well, which brings in some phenomenally composed covers of songs from the Mega Man X games, some Nintendo franchises, and other well-known tunes, the only bad song being the Megalovania cover that is ear-piercing and electronically grating (you'd understand my description if you heard it). Even the slightly modified Mega Buster, or CX Buster, or whatever, is cool to use. And I loved playing as Quick Man for the intro stage! That makes me yearn for a full game centered around his movement and playstyle.

But that's where most of the quality ends with this hack. Though the elements I mentioned above (Graphics, Music, and Base Abilities) stay constant throughout the game, the level design and difficulty is like a slap in the face when you start playing the "Robot Master" stages, eventually culminating in a full beatdown of the player by the time you get to the Light stages. The level design itself has some interesting and challenging elements, but often just decides to throw obstacles at the player that aren't clearly defined or communicated. There are troll blocks that can't be seen until you jump into them, some invisible platforms, some death pits that literally can't be jumped over without the platform item, and spikes shot out at lightning speeds from walls (often stacked so close to each other that less-than-perfect jump timing results in death). These obstacles are frustrating enough on their own, but absolutely brutal when you factor in the absurd amount of enemies just thrown in to levels almost haphazardly. No, I take that back. Enemies are perfectly and cruelly placed to sap a player of their health and lives at every opportunity. Most enemies have a large amount of health and patterns that are just too frantic and random to counter, leading to copious amounts of health loss and cheap deaths. The enemies (that aren't damage-sponges) make up for their lack of health with their plentiful nature, continuing to appear and hound the player at every turn. It doesn't help that the bosses themselves range from decently challenging to outright unfair (looking at you Cheat Man, you spawn of hell itself). What's the point of miraculously managing to survive a stage, only to get to the boss and face an onslaught of cheap, health-draining attacks to your measly life meter? Not even the weapons you get from the bosses are enough to make fighting them worth it (except for maybe Cheat Saber, which one shots all enemies, some obstacles, and deals a lot of damage to bosses).

However, no matter how hard the "Robot Master" stages are, "you ain't seen nothin yet" 'till you've faced the Light stages. Wow, just wow. I only have two ways to describe these levels, number one being "spikes," and number two being "Quick Man lasers". Imagine the enemy-laden and unforgiving stage design of the "Robot Master" stages, but then just litter the stages with one-hit death spikes and Quick Man lasers faster than Quick Man himself. You got a little taste of those lasers in particular back in Kamen Rider's stage, which was ridiculously brutal in itself, but honestly I was wrong in thinking it couldn't get any worse before I played the Light stages. The amount of times you have to perfectly, and I mean PERFECTLY, platform to avoid these lasers and spikes is just staggering. And this is where the game shows its true colors. Mega Man CX is not a challenging game. Mega Man CX is a punishing game with unfair design seemingly meant to dissuade the player from actually trying to play it.

Despite what people are saying, that this hack is the "sequel to Mega Man 2" or the "best Mega Man 2 hack," this hack is NOT a Mega Man game, not even in spirit. This hack is just a hack, an effort made by a fan to communicate his love for the series through a playable experience. And it has a LOT going for it, and I REALLY want to recommend it to people due to all the effort you can clearly see went into this game, but I just *can't*. It all comes down to gameplay, and this hack just doesn't have the gameplay to justify people *playing* the game. I can certainly recommend everybody watch a longplay of this hack to see all the "bells and whistles" the experience has to offer, but no one should torture themselves trying to slog through it.

A description from one of my friends for another game fits this hack perfectly, *especially* if you are (for some forsaken reason) trying to play this game without save states or cheats. This game is "like backhanding a brick wall until one day, the wall breaks instead of your hand." Though, honestly, I'm not sure that wall will ever break here...

Pretty good hackCupcom5/NGKFlower2020-05-11Version 1.1

I came across this hack from a few youtube videos, and just recently I wanted to give it a try myself. So I played it.

If Megaman had a baby with Streets or Rage Mania mode, this would definitely be it. I can tell a lot of love and thought was fleshed out for this game, and I could definitely say Good Work!

Pros

  • Use of Megaman X elements like the dash and partner call (X3), it shows that if someone really wanted to, a megaman X hack could be made for the NES, I would like to see that. I've been using Quickman a lot in some boss fights, especially against Yoshinoman (don't know if he is based off an actual person or an OC for the game.)
  • Creative points for Cheatman's originality, because that is exactly what he does during both fights. My only problem with him is he has too many one-hit kill attacks. -_-
  • Bomberman. What more can I say, it bomberman! I like how his bombs can be used against him, like from his actual games. Him becoming a ghost and fighting Bombeman Black was pretty cool too.
  • Mario stage transition. It was pretty cool how it went from the water stage straight to the boswer castle.
  • Interesting concept of an evil Megaman protagonist, would be cool if Capcom actually did do something like this.
  • Airman is literally air. lol
  • Good to see Kamen Rider make an appearance in a megaman game like this. I got a good laugh and entertainment fighting against him :)
  • Love the whole Yoshi Island boss reference, it's literally the best thing of the game and what really inspired me to play it. LOVE!!
  • Quickman minigame at the end was fun, I died once. lol

Cons

  • It was pretty painful for me fighting against The Blue Bomber himself like this, I got the feels each time. :(
  • As mentioned earlier, though Cheatman is great, I think he has way too many one-hit kill attacks: Cheat Saber, Fireball, when he lands next to player to do a slash attack, plus the instant pit he does. I can possibly understand the cheat saber killing you instantly since that is his specialty, but it's Cheatman. eh, meh.
  • Mario. This guy... I think him and Cheatman are almost tied in annoyance. Not sure why the axe kills you instantly, I mean it's not technically a spike. Also he can hop on your head and you can't get out of it. In other words, Easy KO for him.
  • Some of the Dr.Light stages were ridiculous: the stage that plays Undertale "Megalovania" one with all of the spikes I thought I was about darn near ready to pull my hair out! Bad enough the Rider Joes made it much more difficult to not fall into the pit or drop on the spikes.
  • Airman stage was just a tad confusing with the slippery platforms; are they in the sky or on ice? I am aware that the higher one gets into the sky, the altitude makes it very cold, if that was aimed for here.
  • Dr. Light with his Shotokan/Ansatsuken style, the Hadoken is PRETTY much a one hit kill, the Shoryuken leaves the player with probably one bar of health if you're lucky.
  • This is very minor, but personally, I think it would've been better if the water stage for Mario was the Mushroom Kingdom stage, would've made sense to me since it's an iconic stage like Sonic with Green Hill. Good nonetheless.
  • Cheatman, Rush and Dr. Light all have this rapid attack where they can just keep hitting you with certain attacks (C.man machine gun fire, Rush tornado if it connects, Dr. Light's Tatsumaki Senpu Kyaku. It's kinda repetitive and annoying, when you don't have any health left to use.

Well that said, I give the game a 4/5, It's a good hack no doubt, but I believe some things could still be polished. I've been using Savestates like crazy in this game, MOSTLY against Cheatman,Yoshinoman,Rush and Dr. Light fights. I would recommend if you love Megaman games (like me, lol) or just looking for a challenge, or just wanting to fight the final boss (whichever rocks your boat).

Rockman CX - GOODDobu_GM2019-04-26Version 1.1

Rockman CX

Levels: Okay

Graphics: Good

Music: Excellent

Enemies: Good

Bosses: Good

Weapons: Good

Castle: Good

Difficulty: MEDIUM-HARD (Occasionally HARD)

Comments: Rockman CX is a programming marvel, but a masterpiece it is not. It's difficult to talk about the game's strengths because everything is overshadowed by the simple fact that the game is wildly imbalanced. There are an endless amount of clever and brilliant twists in the game: the inclusion of save files, dashing, Quick Man as a playable character, horizontal & vertical scrolling stages, all the new bosses, and a lot of unexpected turns towards the end of the game. The problem is that this is all overshadowed by the difficulty rapidly bouncing back and forth, where you'll have to slog through dull stages overwrought with enemies just to fight a boss that's nearly impossible to dodge. The hack feels designed more to be entertainment than to be well-balanced and wise; throw in the fact that you start with 8 lives and all the items, and the whole experience just feels wildly unpolished, despite the glitzy exterior. Rockman CX is an staggeringly robust and impressive hack, but that's about all the praise I can offer it.

Also, "Cheat Man" has to be hands down the worst boss I've encountered in a Mega Man hack, only rivaled by some of CHIKO's abominations.

Mega Man CX tried to be like Mega Man X. Grey Mega Man ain't Mega Man X.Diddy64wii2017-12-31Version 1.1

I still wonder why these Mega Man ROMhacks with badly-designed levels get a lot of praise.

I've played this hack for about half an hour and I managed to beat only one stage, and it was just a fluke.

Giving nine lives and a rapid-fire buster aren't enough to make the horrendous difficulty of this hack more manageable. The slow-paced and simplistic controls of the classic Mega Man don't mix at all with the intense and frantic action of the X games. This feels like a total clusterf*ck. Especially when the enemies (bosses included) move so fast that you can't anticipate their attacks and moves at all.

A good example of a poorly-design boss is Fire Mario: If he keeps bouncing on your head while you're on the very left of the field, there's absolutely no way to escape. You'll lose a life no matter what you're doing.

The only way you can enjoy this hack is by overusing savestates. Trial and error isn't fun. And neither is cheap difficulty.

the BEST megaman 2 hack to dateNotthisguy2017-12-17Version 1.1

The game starts up like a typical megaman 2 hack, but prepare to be blown away from the moment you hit start. You play as a Megaman doppleganger created by Dr Wily. Your mission is to defeat Dr lights robots, allies, and prove ONCE AND FOR ALL that Dr Wily is superior.

Graphics 9/10 Choice of colors was excellent here. Bosses, stages and enemies were all re-engineered and recolored. Megaman's stage could use some brushing up. It's just a bunch of lines and a black background. I'm not sure if it was intended that way because everything else looks pretty good.

Gameplay 10/10 Complete engine overhauls were made, and the rom was expanded to 513 KB! (from 257kb) The game itself plays slightly faster than mega man 2. You get to play as Quickman in the intro and outtro, which feels like playing mega man X with these incredible boomerangs that 1shot everything. He also runs faster and climbs walls like X. Levels now scale horizontal AND vertical, so they've expanded it's memory somehow for bigger levels with more data.

The fire mario stage is actually 3 short stages, each with different music, palettes and tiles. All of the boss fights are incredibly well designed, however I DID have one encounter with Dr Light the first time, where he was stuck in a sho-ryu-ken loop flying through the floor upwards.

Sound 10/10 It sounds great. Bomber man stage is a remix of the bomber man theme, the fire mario stage(s) use 3 songs from SMB 1, a little bit of mega man X soundtrack in the opening level. Really well arranged remixes and covers, as well as a few songs I havent heard before.

Difficulty 10/10 Hard First off, this hack is one of those higher difficulty hacks that probably requires savestates or rewind.

However, aside from a few bosses (Fire Mario, Dr Light and Cheat man) it's perfectly tuned for a medium difficulty experience. Anyone who says this is too hard obviously hasn't played minus infinity or mega man unlimited.

Romhack that is -almost- goodMetoolDaddy2017-04-16Version 1.1

First thing to say - I definitely like the idea behind the hack, and it amazes me how advanced it is on the technical side. However, there are some flaws. The difficulty is artificially bloated. It's not challenging, it's difficult. Rewinder is recommended. Graphics could have been better, especially on Yoshinoman's stage - who is weird on his own. While being hard, once you obtain Ringo Shield weapon, it turns from hard to tedious, as the weapon is basically overpowered Leaf Shield, and projectiles are killable in this hack... spoilers, figure it out on your own. Level design ranges great to awful. Cheat man.

On the good side, the Light stages are amazing, except for quick beam section, and the Light boss fight is 11/10. If only the rest of the game was this good.

The Mega Man 2 sequel I've been waiting for!8.bit.fan2017-04-06Version 1.1

This is the Mega Man 2 sequel that I've been waiting for as a kid and for the past 30 years!

This hack is absolutely AMAZING from start to finish, and it's simply the BEST Mega Man hack we've got to date! It rivals the highly revered Rockman 4 Minus Infinity, and dare I say I much prefer Mega Man CX instead as it's even better in many many ways! From the amazing hacking effort, the additional gameplay changes, dashing, playing as Quickman, the faster paced mechanics, great music, to the many many other surprises, this is one hack NOT to be missed by any Mega Man or classic gaming fans out there!

Gameplay - 10/10

The gameplay is simply phenomenal! I already mentioned the new additions such as dashing, playing as Quickman, and faster Mega Man speed. But there are also other amazing additions such as vertical scrolling, upwards transition without the ladder, extra items such as health bonuses, auto fire, and random enemy e-tank drops! The movement and gameplay is so fluid that this game is a complete joy to play! I am completely obsessed with this hack and I play it over and over from start to finish again and again! :)

Difficulty - 9/10

The difficulty is very nicely balanced. There ARE difficult to VERY difficult parts, but they always come with a learning curve, and always mixed in with much easier sections. The 8 'robot masters' levels all range from very easy such as Kirby's level, to very difficult such as Airman's stage. The bosses, likewise, range from an easy to beat Yoshinoman to a very difficult battle with Cheatman. The Wily stages starts off fairly easily with Wily 1 + 2, then hits you HARD with 3. Thankfully the SRAM of the game saves on the exact Wily stage where you're left off so you can always come back to it later.

Music - 9.5/10

The music consists of a wide range of tunes from various sources, and they're all wonderful. My favorites are Yoshinoman, Wily 3, Wily 5 and Wily 6. Not much else to be said here except that they're good, and the sound effects are nice too!

Graphics - 7/10

Okay, now to the negative. About the only downside to this amazing hack is the graphics. Don't get me wrong, the graphics on most of the levels and the Wily stages are very nice. But some of the graphics from the 8 robot masters levels really needed some more work. Mega Man's level for example, while fun and a great level with great music, is graphically underwhelming. The floor and walls are nothing but a bunch of lines. I'm not sure if this was by design, or the creator just ran out of time or something...but it looks awful. In the end, I don't judge too much on games based on graphics, and it isn't that big of an issue with this hack as it's just a few of the stages.

Hacking Effort - 10/10

This is another area where this hack shines most. The hacking effort is just overwhelming...in an awesome way! I already mentioned the additional play mechanics and items, but some of the effects the hacker was able to program into this game is just mind boggling. Some of the later stages and Wily levels display some of the greatest hacking effort I've ever seen. And the last boss....wait till you see the last boss!! ;D

Overall - 9.8/10

All in all, this hack is PHENOMENAL and you owe it to yourself to check it out! From the great gameplay to the amazing fun factors to all the intriguing surprises, this is THE Mega Man hack to have and play! As I mentioned, I've waited and waited and waited as a kid 30 years ago for a 'great' Mega Man 2 sequel, but what I was given were rehashes after rehashes that Capcom kept on churning out year after year just to make a quick buck...now this is not to knock the subsequent sequels, which I also enjoyed as a kid, but they were never the Mega Man 2 sequel that I had envisioned and wanted........until now with Mega Man CX!

Thank you Himajin Jichiku for such an amazing hack!! :D

How about a Mega Man CX-2? ;)

Recommended - YES. YES. YES!!!!

The BEST Mega Man hack ever!mikeH2017-02-10Version 1.0

I love this hack so much! Everything is changed in this game such as music, graphics, levels, gameplay, weapons, enemies, and bosses. Even the gameplay has new things added like dashing, wall climb, and play as Quickman!!

There is just so much that is changed that this feels like a new game! The hacker did a very great job and I had so much fun playing it!

You have to play this hack if you like Mega Man or hacked games. I think this is even better than Rockman 4 Minus Infinity!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! 10/10

It's more than a simple HackMagusLOGS2016-12-17Version 1.0

Rockman CX is a very well programmed Hack from the beginning to the end with some technical surprises and a epic Final Boss. I recommend it to anyone who loves Mega Man or ROM Hacks in general because this Hack is much more than a simple Hack. All the new technical stuff in the game are a reason to keep playing it till the end even if you get annoyed by the difficulty in some Stages, its worth the struggle.

The difficulty varies from Stage to Stage. One Stage can be a piece of cake while the next will be frustrating. There aren't many difficulty Stages and its mostly just Stages with Lasers which are frustrating.

Hopefully someone can Translate this Hack to English

Positive:

  • Ingame Events and Dialogs (only in Japanese)
  • Dash (Mega Man) and Walljump (Quickman) ability
  • New unique and familiar Weapons such as Mega Man Charger
  • New unique Bosses with abilities never seen before
  • A enjoyable Soundtrack
  • All the new technical stuff

Negative:

  • Cheatman's Weapon is overpowered as he can 1 hit kill almost every Boss
  • Bosses weakness charts to certain Weapons could be changed/improved
  • Some Enemies are to fast and difficult to kill, you better run past them
  • Some Stages feel empty and uninspired (Mega Man Stage etc.)
  • Unforgiving Laser parts which require almost frame by frame perfect movement
