Hack description

A Hack of the SNES version of the game done by Shauing over an on-and-off period of thirteen months.
It consists of 10 main levels, featuring some new characters and mechanics along the classic ones introduced in 5 training levels, all of them with a combination of old and new background/foreground sprites, plus a custom colorization for the entire game.
Also presented here, and for the first time on a PoP SNES mod, an original music composition for the title/prologue and a musical arrangement of the Menu music.

Story:
A woman arrives in Persia searching for the princess; her army locks the princess in her room of her new palace, and she challenges the Prince to save the woman he loves and the land of Persia, by fighting her...THE QUEEN OF LIGHT.

I was so excited for this!!ParkerMcFly2019-04-14Version 2.0

As soon as I saw this on the front page of RH, I knew I had to download it. I *LOVE* PoP for the SNES. And this title grabbed me right away!

Downloaded. Applied patch. Listened to some sweet new music that definitely had that PoP feel to it. Then the story began.

The scene didn't really seem to fit what was going on in the story telling, but I let it slide. It's just a story. Interest still captured. Let's get into level one!

Level one starts, and right off the bat you're treated to some more advanced rooms than the original. Expected. thisisfine.jpeg

Continued on. Suddenly, some of the wooden floors have the fire wall trap... Okay... Well... Advanced magic I suppose? Letting it slide. Rooms are starting to get a little crazy in how they are set up... Still letting it slide...

Continued on and found myself at level 3. Some of the rooms were very VERY laggy, but the original had that as well. I'll keep going.

Suddenly, I found myself at the bottom of a pit with a pressure plate that opens the last door to the next level. Sweet! Found the exit! But.... I'm softlocked...

Restarting the level, I discovered you had to push the guard down the hole, and then dip into the hole to see him fall... but it doesn't feel good. If you mess up by killing the guard early, or fall down yourself, you're softlocked...

Overall, the game is meh. For a player salivating for more PoP, this might scratch the itch, but for me, it just left a sour taste in my mouth.
