A game taking the gameplay of super mario bros 2 and combining it with the levels modeled after Super Mario Bros 2, it proves to be an interesting take on the game. The only real thing bothering me is "Why take out Luigi?" as he was an available choice in the 2 games that were merged, he was one of the few things similar between the 2 games to begin with with his extended jumps. Anyway it's an interesting rom hack.
| Fantastic mix of Two Mario 2's | Rohbert | 2022-05-28 | Version 1.1 |
This is an incredible and successful attempt at remaking SMB Lost Levels in the SMB2U engine. You probably will only truly appreciate this hack if you are familiar with SMB2U and SMB Lost Levels. As someone who speedruns SMB2U and understands its engine pretty well, I cannot help but appreciate the wonderful translation of elements from Lost Levels. Being able to play as 4 different characters. Boss fights from SMB2U and the ability to pick up and throw items adds so much to these Lost Levels that it really feels like a satisfyingly and challenging experience. Additionally, the bonus levels that you can access at the end of the standard levels are very creative and round out the package very well. Highly recommended romhack. Great job Producks.
| Unpolished but fun | NesDraug | 2021-06-02 | Version 1.1 |
Great concept and a nice idea but weird artistic choices. Why is Luigi not in the game? Why are the Mario sprites so derpy at times? Can Mario even jump long enough to beat these levels? The graphics doesn't feel finished and it's confusing that pipes send you back if you take the wrong way. I really like the idea and it feels finished enough to enjoy. I say give it a try. I'd love to see a hack with Mario 3 levels as well.
| Very interesting hack. | BlairBear86 | 2021-05-29 | Version 1.1 |
This hack feels like such a rushed, sloppy hack when I play it but at the same time it's just so weird and cool that I can actually recommend people to check it out. I'm a fan of SMB2 and it's cool see its physics used in this style. Everything is very weird and it just throws me off. I just want to stomp on a goomba when I see it but I can't, or hit a coin block but I can't. Probably not a hack I'm going to invest too much time into, I just like how it was put together, very interesting and unique. Check it out.
