| MM (3) аt the Tokyo Olympics - the hack has become better!? Not for everyone | diablo666 | 2021-12-14 | Version 1.2 |
Honestly, I passed version 1.2. Mixed opinion. Graphically, this hack is normal, but with controversial elements. The side of the Level Design - does not swing evenly. I will only say those stages that came out badly, or were not fixed. Stage Mad Tiger - At the beginning of the stage - a lot of strong enemies. It doesn't fit at all. They should be replaced with lighter and less durable ones. At the end of the stage - A Leap of faith, because the spikes are on top and bottom. The hack manages not to let me on the platform, only in the spikes. We need to expand the hole by one more block, so that it is easier for the others. And at the end of the stage - platforms that are placed so that there is not enough reaction and straight to the spikes. Stage Nguyet - The problem is robots that throw stones at you. They should be replaced with Green Joes. The alternative path is interesting, but it does not shorten the road to the boss, which is a pity Top Man Stage - Do you want an alternative way there? Why is there a ladder there? Stage Kanto 1964 - As I said before: "Difficult platforming with the wind" is left, dishonest spikes in the hotel - it remains, a maze where you break your head - it remains, stairs do not help to get in - it remains, Special blocks take away important Rush Jet - remained, dishonest invisible floors, and we add more wind - we left this too, The puzzle is difficult, when you need to have time to break the block and not fall into the spikes-they left it completely. In general, the conclusion is: "WE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO CHANGE ANYTHING AT THIS STAGE. Pain was left with pain!" Stage Kansai 1964 - Left in the second half of the stage - A puzzle on a Rush Jet and platforms that if you touch, jump unsuccessfully, or even linger at all - we get a cheap death. The funny thing is that if you die in this place, START the PUZZLES FROM SCRATCH Bosses. What are my disadvantages: RonChan (two dishonest attacks with one touch), Nguyet (too fast, plus too fast regeneration) And, even I was surprised, but this is a local Metal Man (weakness - very inefficient, the boss is too aggressive) If I started with the cons, it means that I gave this hack a chance to become better. Minor improvements. The Aquarium stage can now be completed without a SUBMARINE. Buggy sprites - I didn't notice. Best Zones - Stage Bowser (gold), Stage Hokkaido 1964 (Silver), Stage Shikoku 1964 (bronze). The others were not surprised, but they did not cause anger either. Average difficulty levels. Bosses (except for some) are interesting and it's nice to pass them honestly. Occasionally I'm looking for a weakness, but it's easy to win with a blaster. Honestly, I gave the hack a chance for rehabilitation. Ehh... But not used him. I recommend it for hardcore people. But I speak for ordinary people, and my opinion is "NO"!
| Weird, interesting, and frustrating | Sosuko | 2021-09-02 | Version 1.1 |
Honestly I'm torn on how to rate this game. It does have some pretty interesting ideas, weapons, custom sprites, etc..., but it's really held down by the level design and execution. Enemy placement is all over the place, with the game either being pointlessly easy (e.g. walking down a long hallway just mashing shoot without any pits, elevation changes, etc...) or brutally unforgiving (e.g. having to jump off rush jet, switch to another weapon mid-jump, and shoot out a wall, all while above a bed of spikes). Some bosses are very similar to their old counterparts (e.g. Mag Tiger), while others are incredibly frustrating tests of patience (e.g. boss that restores health or boss that only has 1-hit kill moves). I did like some of the scenery and how the game mixed things up a little bit with the final bosses/stages, but the actual ending of the game was incredibly underwhelming in terms of a satisfying final boss fight or anything of the sort. It's also disappointing to see that this hack doesn't implement any of the quality of life additions that other hacks from years ago put in, like faster menus, faster ladder climbing, etc... If you're really looking for some Megaman content, this may scratch that itch, but there are several older hacks that are far more polished and enjoyable
| A great Hack overall but quite frustrating on a certain part | Retro Master HD | 2021-07-13 | Version 1.1 |
Really impressed with the graphics and the bosses, the bosses were quite challenging but still beatable and the graphics really brought out the Hack really well. I really liked the Super Mario Bros graphics in Bowser's Kyushu Stage and I really like that Bowser is a Robot Master in Mega Man At The Tokyo Olympics/Mega Man Hack. My favourite Robot Master would have to be Shikoku because she's as easy as Spark Man and I like that there is a female Robot Master in this Mega Man Hack. I like how you put Magnet Tiger from Mega Lion in this Hack as well and I also like that you were able to keep both Top Man and Gemini Man in the Hack too but with an altered behaviour pattern. I've managed to complete the whole Hack playing as Roll Chan and I've still yet play the Hack again but this time playing as Mega Man. My only complaint though is the Kansai Stage, the Hack was going really well up until a certain point, when it came to the Doc Robot part, there was a certain section of that level that I really was not at all very pleased with, the destroyable wall over a pit of spikes. It took me about 30 to 45 minutes to get past it and I'll be real honest and fair to you about it I got incredibly angry and frustrated because it was becoming ever so very tedious, it took me several upon several attempts to finally get past the destroyable wall section and I will say it again I really was not at all very pleased with how that section was made. You could have at least made that section so there are no spikes on the ground, or keep the spikes on the ground but have platforms that appear and disappear and then reappear to make it slightly more fairer. After I completed all of the Doc Robot Levels I did slightly start to cheer up afterwards, I really loved facing the Robot Masters and Bass and Proto Man at the end, I really liked the ending credits also. A great Hack overall but could do without bad flaws such as the Doc Robot part on the Kansai Stage with the destroyable wall over a pit of spikes. 7/10 I'll still recommend it though because it was a great Hack with really amazing Graphics and Robot Masters. :)
| This hack could be better | Murphmario | 2021-06-30 | Version 1.1 |
While the hack itself isn't terrible, and there are a lot of areas I like, there are a lot of areas that could use improvements.
Overall, a good hack, but needs some polish, particularly in the Robot Master stages.
