Hack description

In this ROM hack the player can use one of the X-Men from the Marvel / Capcom fighting game "X-Men: Children of the Atom" : Scott ( Cyclops ), Betsy ( Psylocke ), Piotr ( Colossus ) and Logan ( Wolverine ). Same Bosses have been replaced too.

This Rom Hack is based on savok's hack "Streets of Rage 2 - PLUS ULTRA" (https://retrohackers.net/hack-details.php?id=4782/) edited with Pancake 2 and other tools to replace sprites and sounds.
So the character can juggle, run etc...

This hack is for the (U) version of the SOR2 bin.

Picking weapons and holding B / attack will activate their mutant powers, except from Betsy, because she is a ninja, so she can use blades.

Please note that after fighting same bosses the spites of same items as the cash bag will get corrupted, this issue will be fixed in the future.

This release is complete and fully functional, but there is still polish to do: redraw and reshade the sprites, add shadows, replace the title screens and portraits, fix the damage level... but it's gonna take a lot of time, so it's been chosen to share this version to be played in the meantime.

Reviews

Well done budmarchegiano2023-01-19Version 1.0

Plays great, doesn't look too terrible but I am excited by the thought of touched up sprites.

One of the better character swaps, the X-men fit SOR2 quite a bit better than most.

Would be great if the intro and title screen were customized, and as much as I love SOR2 music a few Xmen tunes mixed in wouldn't hurt at all.

Either way, I am looking forward to the progression of this hack.
