Reviews

Great Spritework and Animated Tilesiridium_ionizer2024-05-18Version 1.0

First let me say that this hack looks really great. I liked 95% of the sprite/background changes including some of the enemies that seem to have a bit of chibi style. Chris was my favorite looking player character. The bullet bill replacement, however, didn't work for me. The animated background tiles look awesome. However, with so much movement it does become a bit distracting to play at some sections, specifically the shiny animated bricks and smiley heads (which resemble enemies at first glace). You might consider a supplemental patch to turn off the brick shine animation. I still liked the the water level distortion animation.

I played through 15 of the game's 32 levels, but I did not notice any significant changes in gameplay or level design even though this hack was marked (G, L, T, GP). It would probably be better if you let people know that there are no or only slight changes to levels or gameplay.
