Reviews

It is good, but there are better optionsdamirium2024-05-22Version 1.0b

Don't get me wrong because I say I don't recommend it. I don't think this utility is bad. In fact, I've used it for a long time. The interface is intuitive, it does everything well, never have I had a problem with it. But it does lack one very important feature, and that is editing attributes, i.e. palettes.

I didn't know that there was another tool that can do that. I didn't even know that the title screen data does contain attribute data, and always wondered how people get things such as the shiny coin palette in their title screens. I always thought that you need to do something in ASM to make that happen, but I was wrong. The title screen data does contain the attribute data, it's just that this tool doesn't support editing it.

Recently I discovered another tool: https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1513/ . The interface of that one is very similar to this, to the point where I think there might be shared code between the two, and they function almost the same... except that one has an attribute editor. And it makes it so much better.

So, in conclusion, yes, I like this utility, and I'm not happy that I have to say I don't recommend it, but I do, because there is simply another tool that does the job better.
